SERVICE AND REPAIR OF AIR CONDITIONERS IN TRUCKS

Most modern car interiors are air-conditioned. Today it is difficult to remember a new car without air conditioning, but truck drivers rarely think about how this beloved option works, and forget about it when it is working normally. Sometimes air conditioner maintenance requires the dismantling of many parts of the vehicle, so it is better you entrust this work to professionals.

Complex service of air conditioners. We do diagnostics, repair and refueling of truck air conditioners with professional equipment.

Guaranteed. We provide a guarantee for all types of work performed.

Car air conditioner design. To refuel an automobile air conditioner, it is important to understand how its mechanisms work. The system consists of 3 elements: a capacitor, and evaporator and a compressor. There are also additional parts such as a dryer, receiver and control valve.

How does the air conditioner work? We consider it important to explain how this important automotive option works. Air conditioning takes place through air circulation. The compressor compresses the gas and flows it to the condenser. This condensate flows through the circuit and collects under pressure in the expansion valve. From there, it is sprayed onto the evaporator, during which the ambient air is cooled. The spent fuel returns to the compressor under low pressure.

Diagnose the problem with professional equipment.

When servicing car air conditioners, everything is not as simple as it seems. There are many details and requirements that must be strictly observed for the entire cooling system to work properly. In order to avoid interruptions, you should perform diagnostics of the air conditioner once every 2-3 years.

It is possible to identify the main problems using special equipment and having the appropriate skills. Contacting our workshop to repair the air conditioner will allow you to inexpensively repair the unit.

“It doesn’t cool well”

Despite the initial tightness of all pipes, the compressor and other elements of the air conditioner, freon can eventually leave through seals, joints, microcracks, etc. In addition, oil - a companion of freon - loses its properties over time, and must be changed. The contents of the tubes are gradually consumed and normal cooling of the passenger compartment becomes impossible.

Therefore, most customers who come with a complaint about insufficiently cold air from the air conditioner may just need to refuel the system with freon and change the oil.

Although older cars can have more serious malfunctions, up to the breakdown of the compressor – the most expensive element of the air conditioner. In order for it not to come to this, we recommend that you periodically check the air conditioner, filling it with freon at least once a year, even if it is working correctly.

Tightness diagnostics.

Diagnostics and prevention of tightness is necessary for the serviceability of the unit and subsequent savings. There are diagnostic devices at our service station that determine the concentration of freon in the air.

Freon leak diagnostics.

Factors that can lead to significant leaks, such as:

  • leakage at the joints
  • condenser corrosion
  • damage to the circulation pipes

Time for antibacterial spray treatment. If you do not use the air conditioner for a long time then, when you turn it on, you can smell an unpleasant smell in the cabin. This caused by bacteria that accumulate in condensation. In addition, the combs of the radiator-evaporator are also a suitable breeding ground for bacteria, microorganisms, mold and mildew.

Wash the air conditioner radiator. Insufficiently cooled freon is an extra load on the compressor. To avoid costly damage, it is better to wash the condenser a couple of times a year, or at least before the season.

Outcome. As you can see, although air conditioners are simple, they are quite expensive contraptions. It is much easier to prevent damage than to look for ways to fix it later. If you haven"t checked the air conditioning system in your car for more than three years, do so at the next scheduled maintenance. These simple and inexpensive steps will help you avoid big financial losses and enjoy cool air in the cabin, even on hot summer days.

The reason for a truck air conditioner to malfunction, even it was refueled recently, may be a lack of pressure or it not corresponding to the norm. At our service station, we will find out what is wrong with your truck and how to fix it.
